Tex Wasabi

Yesterday was the monthly outing with Dave, Nanci and me. We went to Guy Fieri's restaurant Tex Wasabi in Santa Rosa. It was a great day for a drive - no rain yet and just a pretty day. We got there about 11:30 and went in. I was quite surprised to see that the restaurant was in a strip mall and not a larger restaurant like I expected. I don't know why I expected a larger stand alone restaurant, but for some reason I did. It is a Rock n Roll BBQ Sushi place. WOW! What a great menu and there was lots of things to choose from.

We started off by ordering an appetizer sampler platter - onion rings, chicken wings, teriyaki chicken and egg rolls (these were DELICIOUS!). Then Nanci ordered sushi, Dave ordered brisket and I ordered pork ribs and a California roll. Food was very yummy.

This is all that was left over.

We had a great time while there and on the way home. We made our traditional stop at Sonic for ice cream sundaes and something
to drink. WOOHOO!

And then headed home. We've planned next month's day already and let me tell you - it is going to be a great day! We've decided that we will start the day with pedicures (all 3 of us), move on someplace for one hour massages and facials and then finish with eating at Texas Roadhouse...

Does life get any better than that?

For today....

For today . . .
Outside my window...  is the wonderful world God made - wet yet still beautiful
I am thinking... how lucky I am to have my family and friends
I am thankful for... a loving God who loves me in spite of myself

From the kitchen... I can see the rain falling and the wind blowing slightly in the trees
I am wearing... sweats and a sweater
I am reading... This Side Of Heaven by Karen Kingsbury
I am hoping... for a cure for ALL cancers - especially childhood cancers
I am creating... oh, it's a surprise but I'll share soon.. I'm so excited!
I am hearing.... the sounds of my family
One of my favorite things... is just relaxing with my family
A few plans for the rest of the week.... working, planning, having lunch with Nanci and Dave, relaxing, going to school.

Blogging Update

So, I guess it has been a while since I've really blogged anything so I thought I'd catch up...

It's been a pretty uneventful couple of weeks since we got back from Indiana. I was finishing up my class, the kids have been going to school, working, trying to get caught up on sleep again - that is the big one - I've been tired since the whirlwind wedding and Indiana trip. I finally feel like I'm about caught up and everything.
Matthew is settling back in to base and looking for a place for them so when Stephanie gets there March 16 they have a place to go (always a good thing...). He thinks he has found one so now we just need to get Buddy weighed to make sure he meets the weight requirement of the complex.
We've had a long weekend due to President's Day so when Steph and I were chatting Saturday I said she should have come down - so she did. We had a great time when she got here Saturday night and yesterday. We looked a pictures, Wii bowled (both right and left handed.. she is much better left handed than I am.. ), watched some tv, played with Kait, goofed off and stayed in out of the rain. She'll be back in a couple weeks and will meet the family at that time :-). Fun!
Other than that, not much is going on - -
Hope everything is well with ya'll and we'll talk again soon.. :-)

Ernie Haase & Signature Sound

So, Friday night after a very long week, we went to see Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. Let me tell you, these guys have amazing harmony and sound awesome together. They came out and started the show at 7:00, sang for an hour and 15 minutes, took a break and then sang another 45 minutes. It was high energy and fun to watch and listen to. These guys are in my top 2 - only beside The Gaither Vocal Band - I'd have a hard time choosing between the two, but they are both awesome!
