The Voyage

George, from Celtic Thunder sang this song the other night and I thought the words were too beautiful not to share. He has an amazing voice, but the words are a true love song. I am glad that I am on "The Voyage" with my first mate.

The Voyage
written by Celtic Thunder

I am a sailor and you're my first mate
We signed on together, we coupled our fate
We hauled up our anchor determined not to fail
For the heart's treasure together we set sail

With no maps to guide us we steered our own course
We rode out the storms when the winds were gale force
We sat out the doldrums in patience and hope
Working together we learned how to cope

(Chorus)
Life is an ocean, love is a boat
In troubled waters it keeps us afloat
When we started our voyage
There was just me and you
Now gathered 'round us we have our own crew

Together we're in this relationship
We've built it with care to last the whole trip
Our true destination's not marked on any chart
We're navigating for the shores of the heart

That is a beautiful song. I cry when I listen to it. Also to My Boy and The Old Man.

Have you heard Christmas 1915? It's another tear-jerker, especially when George sings "I killed the boy who sang": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Exflbnmfqzg

Check out my Google Knol with links to this and every other CT song: http://knol.google.com/k/mark-regan/celtic-thunder/3oo5lhklxb3l0/2#
